Volunteers Week has arrived !!
Our Yvonne is a volunteer, she fosters dogs for the Dogs Trust ”Freedom Project’
Yvonne explains what it means to her and what is involved to be a Foster Mommy !
Fostering allows owners that need to flee from domestic abuse to go to a place of safety, whilst knowing that when they find suitable housing that they will get their beloved dog back. Many victims of domestic abuse do not leave the situation due to fears about their animals, so this charity allows them to get to safety sooner.
I get great joy in having a fur baby staying with me, they do get pampered ! Unfortunately, these animals have often seen horrible events and may have even been subject to abuse themselves.
Two of the dogs that have come to me very shut down and in a very poor condition, it is such a privilege to be able to slowly bring them out of there shell and improve their health..
Thankfully, the others have just been happy to have a peaceful home.
The freedom project is so lucky to have you Yvonne! The difference you make in peoples lives and the comfort you give them by loving their dogs must be immeasurable.
